A 1 kWp installation of solar panels saves as much CO2 emissions as eight 30-year old trees!
1 kWp of solar panels displaces 1,400* kWh of electricity per year. If 1 kWh of electricity emits 1.106lbs of carbon, a kilowatt of solar panels installed saves the planet about 1500* lbs of C02 per year. A 30 year old tree has the capacity to absorb 193lbs of C02 from the atmosphere per year. One (1) kW of solar panels installed is therefore equivalent to planting about eight (8) 30-year old trees.
